  •  DAK Americas will invest $2.28 million at existing facilities in Cedar Creek to construct an inter-modal facility and extend rail lines.  The facility will be available for use by other industries.
  •  South River Electric Membership Co-op is completing a new $3.2 million, 25,000 sq. ft. call center to open in spring 2005.
  •  Nitta Gelatin will invest $26 million in a new biotech operation
  •  Kelly Springfield, the county's largest employer, is investing $51.9 million in a new tire line and warehouse expansion
  • The state has funded a Military Business Center in Fayetteville to assist companies interested in gaining contracts for Department of Defense work.

The Cumberland County Business Council helps companies to establish and expand operations in the Cumberland County area of North Carolina.  This area includes the locations of Fort Bragg and Pope Air Force Base and communities around the city of Fayetteville such as Falcon, Godwin, Hope Mills, Linden, Spring Lake, Stedman and Wade.  Fayetteville is North Carolina's fourth largest metropolitan area, with a population of roughly 300,000.

Available reports by a site selection consultant (Business Facility Planning Consultants) highlight this area as a location for distribution projects or manufacturing and distribution operations in the automotive, plastics, and pharmaceutical industries.

Contact directly for details.  For example, the Cedar Creek Business Center is a North Carolina "Certified Site" in a State Development Zone (SDZ), which offers larger state tax credits for job creation (from $1000 to $5000 per job) and employee training (from $500 to $1000 per employee).

Other incentives may be available, but these vary according to the expected economic impact of the project.
